My latest hybrid--Doll Chateau Youth Verna (full set with white skin) and Peak's Woods Goldie (Val Zeitler Sonja). I think she's pretty fun--willowy and soft--an omen for spring!

How to change your BJDs hands

The next hand... by alington
The next hand..., a photo by alington on Flickr.
Did you know... you can change your BJDs hands (and feet!) without restringing? I've posted a short photo tutorial on how to do this with ease and without tears, frustration, or wine on Flickr.

Check out the entire tutorial here. I hope it helps!

I'll be adding stuff like this to my next book, A Little More BJDs for Beginners. My daughter Lauren, who is 10, suggested I need a pocket edition of my book, which I found quite interesting.

"Mom, don't you think people would want to take your book with them when they travel to conventions and stuff?" What a smart girl!

The dolly shuffle!

Flowne by alington
Flowne, a photo by alington on Flickr.
It's time to play the dolly shuffle!

I've recently come across two of my ultimate grail BJDs--tan Goldie and tan Wake-Up Goldie from the GoGa convention in 2009, I think. I've been able to purchase Goldie, and I have WU Goldie on lay-away. Help me pay her off even sooner by checking out my for-sale items on Den of Angels!

I have lots of great stuff for sale, including my Human Flowne hybrid for $300 (or just her head for $120).

KBJD Show - location change - Westin LAX Hotel

There's been an update to the location of 2014 KBJD Convention. For more information, please visit their website, www.kbjdshow.com.

2014 KBJD SHOW has changed the convention Hotel location to Westin Los Angeles Airport due to many collectors who live in out of state of California interested in our KBJD Show. The original Line Hotel is a good hotel but Line Hotel is a boutique hotel which couldn't accommodate our convention size anymore. So we would like to ask apologies for everyone and we would like to introduce the new hotel location with many benefits.

Before: Line Hotel - 3515 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90010 (4 Stars) Discount Rate $159.90

NEW HOTEL: Westin LAX Hotel - 5400 W Century Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90045 (4 Stars) Convention Discount Rate $110

Benefits:

- Larger rooms (share rooms to save money)
- Lower rate $110 instead of $159 (save almost $50 per night)
  • Kings: $110
  • Doubles: $110
  • Triples: $125
  • Quad: $140
- Free Wifi internet for convention attendees.
- Free shuttle bus between (LAX) Airport to Hotel (about $100 roundtrip for taxi cost from LAX)
- Hotel will provide 60% parking discount for people check-in to hotel using our discount rate for collectors driving from Northern California and San Diego
- For our local collectors using public transportation, there is FLYAWAY bus from Orange County and Union Station to LAX to transfer to WESTIN hotel shuttle bus at the airport. Or you may take METRO to Airport Station as well.
- Huge Lobby area & same or bigger size of rent places for the convention compare to Line Hotel (4 times larger)

We hope our change was not making any inconvenience to our dolly family and we hope you like this hotel.

If in case if you have already booked Line Hotel, please let us know, we will help you with the refund.

New Hotel’s code will be provide via email (info@kbjdshow.com) today to individual preregisters.

By the way--I've registered, and I'll be there! (I can't wait!)

New LE Tristan - Fairy of Color Black - from Peak's Woods

FOC LE Elf Tristan
She's new, she's limited, and she goes on sale on January 31 through February 28, 2014 at Peak's Woods. There are two different sculpts available.

Above - Elf Tristan is a new Fairy of Color, available in four colors - suntan (!!), grey, white or normal. She includes a wig, glass 16mm eyes, and sculpted elf ears (which are painted but not pierced). Basic Lolita hands are included, unless you order the special hand parts with long nails.

Below - Vampire Tristan is also available in those four colors, and has pointy ears and sculpted vampire fangs. She also has the option of special hands.

Full prices aren't listed yet--but it looks like the LE face-up will add $90, the limited hand parts will add $25-30, depending on the color, nail art will add $40, and heel feet will add $25-30, depending on color.

Interestingly, Tristan won't be added as a basic doll. And I see a new name under face-up artist--Bhar. The style looks a little different, and I adore the nails!

You might have a problem...

Lady Bee and Rex by alington
Lady Bee and Rex, a photo by alington on Flickr.
... if your BJDs not only have custom laser-cut chairs, but also start adopting cats.

Ack!

We have now decided whose person Rex's is, at least. I think he has chosen Lady Bee. You can see their entire introduction on Flickr.

My son pointed out to me that he technically still needs a litter box. We shall see. (Did I mention my oldest son is 14, and full of... incredible ideas?)
